Heroin

Heroin is made from the resin of poppy plants. The opium is removed from the pod and refined to make morphine and further refined to make different forms of heroin. Heroin can be a white or brown powder. When heroin enters the brain, it rapidly binds to opioid receptors, especially those involved in feelings of pain and pleasure and in controlling heart rate, sleeping, and breathing.
